Draftkings picks: Wyndham Championship

via Draftkings Mobile App.

The invention and introduction of daily fantasy sports into our everyday lives has turned many of us from watching sports with friends into degenerate gamblers with grudges against golfers who kill our lineup (Looking at you, Louis Oosthuizen!!!). In tough times like these, the people need someone to lead them through the dark of the Draftkings Lobby and into the big, green, cash machine light. I’ve got to be honest with you, that person is most likely not me. But screw it, let’s have some fun picking some golfers to root for (and most likely hate if/when they miss the cut).

Top guys to avoid
Grayson Murray: $9,100
Murray has been going pretty smooth throughout the year, winning the Barbasol Championship (same week as the British so I think of it as a bigger Web.com event), and has made 2 of his last 3 cuts. The only issue is, before that he missed 3 cuts in a row, and still only has one top-10 all year. This doesn’t bear well for him coming into the Wyndham, and while I don’t think he will struggle, I do think he is WAYYY overpriced. Good pick for about $7,500, stay away from this high of a salary.
Bill Haas: $10,200
Haas is another player that seems a tad bit overpriced for this week. He has made 7 out of the last 8 cuts, which is great for a DK lineup, but his only top 10 came over 2 months ago at the US Open. I really like Bill Haas, but I think this is one I will take a pass on.

Guy Who will blow your cap but is worth it

Kevin Kisner: $11,300
Kiz has been on a great run this year. He has only missed 2 cuts all year, won at the Dean and Deluca, and has 6 top tens. After coming off a weekend he will want to forget at the PGA (the collapse of everyone but JT was spectacular), I think he is the front-runner in the clubhouse to win this thing. Don’t be surprised if he comes out ablaze on Thursday to make up for his poor shots on Sunday at Quail Hollow.

Great value picks
Ollie Schniederjans: $7,600
Ollie had a great start to the season, finishing in the top 3 three times before the end of April. Since then, he has cooled down a little, missing a cut at the Greenbriar. However, Ollie is one of the best value picks I can see in this pool. The main reason is that he makes cuts: the most important thing for your lineup is to have 6 guys capable of making the cut. Ollie is certainly able to do just that.
Nick Taylor: $7,000
Taylor has been having one of those yo-yo years as well. Yes, he has missed back-to-back cuts, but he took a little time off and is ready to finish the year with as many FedEx Cup points as possible. He currently sits 84th and should easily make it into the playoffs, but I think a great finish here will put him over the edge. The main reason why he gets the nod: GREAT VALUE. I guy who consistently makes cuts and has a few top 10s to his name for that low of a price is nothing short of spectacular.
An and Bradley have had great second halves to the season, so they were easy inclusions. Ryan Moore was my wildcard; he won the event in 2009, but I felt he is a little overpriced. Nonetheless, I went with him as my last big money guy. Ollie, Nick Taylor, and ever reliable Daniel Summerhays lead up to what I hope will be a great weekend of golf!
