Everyone knows I am not the biggest Bryson Dechambeau fan: he’s young and exciting to watch, but a lot of his methods are dumb and this whole, “mad genius” persona is old. I mean seriously, who in their right mind would use a COMPASS to help them read greens?! Just read the damn green and putt, Bryson!
This week over at the Porsche European Open, my least favorite Rocket Scientist looked like he would break through and win. And then, the final 4 holes happened, and it was a GLORIOUS meltdown to watch.

WOW! What an insane meltdown by a “professional’s pro” who likens himself to Payne Stewart. But after his loss, the handshake after was absolutely brutal.
Now, Richard McEvoy is a 39-year-old professional who had NEVER won on the European Tour and has only ever won 3 tournaments on the Challenge Tour. After the great accomplishment of his career, to be brushed off by a 24-year-old throwing a temper tantrum is a brutal look.
Look, I get it, we’ve all been out on the course and have had brutal meltdowns. Here’s the biggest difference: Bryson Dechambeau has been crowned as a golf media darling, who is so young yet so mature and tries to model himself off the golf greats of the past. Well, if you’re going to do that, you can’t be a whiny little bitch after you play bad, and that’s exactly what Dechambeau did. He later apologized for his actions, which is a good start, but he needs to get off his high horse and stop acting like he’s better than everyone else because he wears a scaly cap.
