Tiger’s son Charlie Woods wins another Junior Event, may win 30 majors

While Tiger Woods competes in the FedEx Cup, Charlie has been busy dominating the South Florida junior golf circuit. Two weeks after winning a nine-hole U.S. Kids event by five shots thanks to a three-under-par 33, Charlie, 11, finished in red figures again on Saturday. This time, he won his 9-11 age division by three shots at a PGA South Florida Section tournament. So that’s back-to-back wins by a combined eight shots. Not too shabby. Tiger has been spotted caddieing for Charlie a couple times in the past year. He’s playing this weekend, though, at the Northern Trust, the opening event of the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Golf has always been a game passed down from parent to kid: my mom and dad taught me how to play, and they were taught from their parents before them. Neither of my parents were professionals, but there is a nice little history of fathers having sons out on tour: Davis Love III was taught by his father Davis Love Jr, Justin Thomas’ dad was a PGA Professional in Kentucky, and John Daly’s son Little John has excelled in Junior events.

Now, we have Charlie Woods going out at age 11 shooting 1 under par. The same son we saw sprinting into his father’s arm after the 2019 Masters is a chip off the old block indeed.

What’s even crazier about this is what Charlie is shooting on 9-hole events. At 11 years old, he’s going out there shooting UNDER PAR. This past weekend, he shot a 1-under 35, and the previous weekend he shot a 3-under 33! Are we seeing the next coming of Tiger?? Even better, we are seeing his son coming up to dominate the game of golf.
