Alright Duff Daddies and Mamas, welcome back to another edition of the Duffin' Up Daily Fantasy picks! For the US Open, I have compiled a great list of players that hopefully will make you some money! (But probably not because I suck at this).
Top Player to Avoid:
Jon Rahm - $ 11,000: Yes, he's coming off an unbelievable year. Yes, he tied for third last year. But he has missed 2 out of the last 3 cuts at the US Open, and he even said coming into this week that he doesn't believe his game is where it needs to be right now. So for this week, I would steer clear of him.
High-Salary Player that is worth it:
Dustin Johnson - $11,500: I don't need to explain this one, do I? We're getting towards the old "Tiger or the field?" question with DJ.
Great Value Picks:
Kevin Streelman - $6,700: Coming off a T3 at the Safeway Open, Streelz has look really good since his rocky start back from COVID. He hasn't missed a cut since the RBC Heritage and has three top 10s. Picking him will allow you to go all out on a guy like DJ above.
Lanto Griffin - $6,500: We're really gonna do this again with Lanto, aren't we? CRIMINALLY underrated right here at $6,500. Players like Lucas Glover, Branden Grace, Will Zalatoris and Paul Waring are more expensive than him. I don't know how much more I can say besides this is an absolute STEAL.
MY PICKS:
JT and Xander are my big-money guys this week: they always seem to be right up there during the majors, and I think this trend will continue. Tyrell Hatton and Gary Woodland are my middle class guys. Woodland is coming off the title last year, and while he may not repeat, I think he can certainly play well. Hatton is one of those guys that runs streaky, but he's been pretty good at the US Open. Finally, I have Rasmus Hojgaard (aka THE PHENOM), who will play in his first US Open, and my boy Lanto Griffin to round this out.
