Yesterday I posted about Scottie Scheffler testing positive. Well, we had another one break yesterday afternoon as well. Sam Horsfield has, unfortunately, become the 2nd player in as many days to test positive for COVID-19.
Horsfield has had a fantastic season so far over in Europe. He finished 2nd in the order of Merit on the UK Swing of the European Tour, and currently sits in 8th place in the Race to Dubai rankings. The former 2015 Walker Cup teammate won his first two European Tour events this year, and if it wasn't for the insane rise of Rasmus Hojgaard, Horsfield would be the talk of the tour.
Horsfield will not have the opportunity to avenge his missed cups in the 2015, 2016, and 2019 US Opens this week, and will unfortunately miss the next few European Tour events as well. We wish a speedy recovery for Sam and are hopeful to see him back out on the course in the near future!
